Weigela ‘Florida Variegata’

The hardy Weigela ‘Florida Variegata’ has stunning pink trumpet flowers that smother the plant in late Spring and continue all Summer long. It’s great green and cream foliage provides a fantastic contrast backdrop for these pink blooms. Enjoys Sun or 1/2 shade. A frost hardy, choice shrub; easy and low care, growing up to 2 meters. The weigela is a member of the honeysuckle family. As a result it’s blooms are loved nectar seeking birds and all types of bees.


Growing: Weigela ‘Florida Variegata’

– Height with flowers: Up to 200cm approx. when established.
– Width: Up to 150cm approx. when established.
– Position: Full Sun to Partial Shade.
– Soil: Prefers a moist but well drained soil.
– Fragrance:
Scented blooms.
– Frost:
Very frost hardy.
– Growth:
Deciduous Shrub.

– Attracts: Nectar seeking birds and all types of beneficial pollinators.
– Care: Established shrubs will benefit from removing older inner branches in late winter. This will let more light and air through the plant and improve the shrub’s growth and bloom the following season. A light prune to shape can also be done at the same time. But generally a low maintenance and easy plant.
– Deer & Rabbit resistant: It is known as a good deer and rabbit resistant option.
– Origin: Native to North China, Korea, and Japan.
