Thymus neiceffii

JUNIPER THYME

Could easily be mistaken for a miniature ground-cover juniper because of the lovely foliage.
This mat forming thyme with grey-green needle leaves (soft, not spiky) has pink/purple flowers along its shoots. Very hardy.
It thrives in full sun and remains happy in our torrid summers and cold, frosty winters, as long as it remains dry.
So mulch it with some gravel, and plant it in your driest, hottest, sandiest, most well drained spot and enjoy the lovely foliage all year plus a carpet of pink in summer.
Grows absolutely flat to the ground and thickly covers a patch up to a diameter of 60cm wide.
