Teucrium heterophyllum CANARY TEUCRIUM –

Exotic rare shrub originating from Madeira with ornamental silvery-grey, oval leaves. Teucrium heterophyllum CANARY has a very pleasant, light aromatic scent. Its’ orange red funnel shaped flowers bloom from late autumn to late spring and turn to bright blood red with age. Prefers rich, well drained and slightly stony soil in a sunny spot but will tolerate a range of situations.


Growing Teucrium betonicum:

– Height with flowers: 100cm approx.
– Width: 80cm approx.
– Position: Full Sun as well as Partial Shade
– Soil: Tolerant of a range of soils types but must be well drained.

– Fragrance: Scented Foliage.
– Frost: Hardy
– Growth: Deciduous Shrub
– Attracts: Butterflies, bees and also other beneficial pollinators.

– Care: Shear back once or twice a year after flowering to promote new side branching. Remove old growth and spent flowers.
– Deer & Rabbit resistant: Known to be left alone by these and most other pests and diseases.
– Origin: Native to Madeira.
