Stokesia laevis ‘Mary Gregory’

Stokesia laevis ‘Mary Gregory’ is a prolific bloomer, with flower stems from mid-Spring well into Autumn.
A completely new break in the lovely Stoke’s Asters – which have all previously been blue, white or pink.
Large blooms, very double with long frilly petals, on strong stems.

Reliable, heavy bloomer

Suited to a temperate climate the flowers appear in late spring summer, however if in moderate regions it can flower in all months of the year especially if spent flowers are pinched out. Huge frilled flowers up to 7.5cm across sit well above the neat clump of evergreen foliage. Stokesia laevis ‘Mary Gregory’ Enjoys Full Sun to light shade. Heat, dry and frost hardy in a well mulched bed.

Height with flowers: 45cm approx.
Width: 40cm approx.
Position: Full Sun, Can tolerate Partial shade but may not flower as profusely.
Soil: Will tolerate a range of soils, however it must be well drained. Very adaptable to moist or dry conditions but not standing water.

Fragrance: None.
Frost: Hardy.
Growth: Herbaceous Perennial.
Attracts: Bees as well as butterflies absolutely adore the landing pad blooms of Stokesia laevis ‘Mel’s Blue’.

Care: Minimal care is needed especially once established in the garden. However dead-heading readily will result in repeat, fresh blooms.
Deer & Rabbit resistant: Unpalatable and resistant to such animal pests because they dislike the texture,
Origin: Native to the south-eastern United States.
