Stachys macrantha ‘Robusta’

Deep rose-purple trumpets packed densely into showy heads, Above a thick clump of wrinkled, scalloped green foliage. Stachys macrantha ‘Robusta’ makes a good groundcover under roses, and known as a traditional rose companion plant with a reputation for helping repel insects. A tough and easy grower that can cope with heat and dry periods. Makes a very pretty and hardy edge plant in either Sun or Partial Shade, and will even grow in dense Shade.

Growing: Stachys macrantha ‘Robusta’

– Width: 45cm approx.
– Position: Preferably Full Sun to Partial Shade but can also grow in Deeper Shade.
– Soil: Tolerates dry conditions and most soils but must be well drained.

– Deer & Rabbit resistant: Not first choice for these pests but they might have a nibble. However the plant will bounce back with ease if this is the case.
– Origin: Native to the Caucasus, North-Eastern Turkey, and also North-Western Iran.
