Tough, old fashioned groundcover and traditional companion plant for roses and vegetables. One of the toughest, low maintenance plants around. Forms dense, low, weed suppressing, mats of furry silver foliage. Feels like lamb’s ears. Kids love them. Flowers pink-purple, on long strong stems. Pretty, but best chopped right back hard after flowering, as it is the dense silver carpet of lamb’s ears that is the chief attraction. Full Sun, but also tolerant of 1/2 Shade or Dappled Sunlight. Likes well drained, and tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky soil well. Very dry hardy once established. Frost hardy.
