Salvia lyrata ‘Purple Volcano’

Wonderful foliage feature from this beautifully coloured “Lyre Sage”. Neat, shapely rosettes of purple-wine foliage. Flowers of purple and white erupt over summer and autumn on 30cm. spires. Full Sun to Partial Shade. Frost hardy. Will gently self sow if very happy, but not a pest or invasive. I grow mine as a little foliage feature in my vegetable garden paths and edges. Water efficient, and can tolerate dry spells. Not fussy about soils – will tolerant from clay to sandy or rocky, acid or alkaline.
