Persicaria virginiana

Out of stock

Soft textured leaves are a velvety mustard-green in colour with a distinctive, chocolate-coloured chevron halfway along its surface. The white flowers are slender and somewhat insignificant and the rich, handsome foliage more than makes up for it. Once established it will form an attractive, 70cm rounded hump. Unlike many other species, this one does not like to be planted in full sun, preferring some shade.  Will grow well in damp yet free-draining soil, Very hardy – far hardier than its exotic looks suggest As hardy as it is, it can easily be damaged from exposure to summer heat or drought.
