A select anemone with bronze tinged foliage bearing pale creamy yellow blooms in Winter. Anemone x seemannii LEMON is a compact but vigerous grower that is ideal for a woodland situation or rock garden.

A wild beauty

The flowers of wood anemone open to the day and expand their petals in the sun. Although rain, heavy cloud, or nightfall cause them to shut up shop again. In the wild, wood anemone grows as a monoculture under trees and shrubs and in wet woodlands. However it can also be seen making a natural combination with other wild flowers like daffodils on road verges.

Blooms in Deep Shade

Provides blooms in deep shade or dappled light and it also mingles perfectly between shrubs.

Growing: Anemone x seemannii

– Width: 25cm approx.
– Position: Deep Shade and also Partial Light.
– Soil: Well Drained yet moist all through the growing season. Enjoys being moist through most of the year but it also likes a period of drying out once the plant is established and dormant. As long as it isn’t for too long.

– Care: Very undemanding plant if the soil is right. Enjoys leaf litter and composted bark otherwise it is virtually care free.
– Deer & Rabbit resistant: Usually left alone by these nibbling pests. The wood anemone is pretty pest free in general.
– Origin: Anemonoides nemorosa the wood anemone is native to Europe. Although cultivars have been bred all over the world.
