DWARF BEAR’S BREECHES 

 If you have always wanted an Acanthus but couldn’t squeeze one into your garden, you’ll be pleased to discover this compact smaller statured Bear’s Breech. 
This one is unique among the Acanthus with its finely cut, black-green foliage, making a small 45cm tall x 20cm wide clump. In late spring, the pagoda-style tower of white and purple hooded flowers rises proudly from a textural, rosette. Acanthus caroli-alexandri Likes sun to partial shade.

DWARF BEAR’S BREECHES

– Height with flowers: 45cm approx.
– Width: 20cm approx.
– Position: Sun to partial shade. Perfect for a more sheltered, yet sunny spot.
– Soil:
Deals with a range of soil types from arid, sandy earth to moist and rich but should be well drained.

– Fragrant: None.
– Frost:
Hardy.
– Growth:
Herbaceous Perennial.
– Attracts: Bees, Butterflies, Nector seeking birds and also other beneficial pollinators.

Deer & Rabbit resistant: Both Deer and rabbit prefer other plants. Additionally, Acanthus is quite tolerant to pests.
– Care: Dead head spent flower stems and cut off damaged leaves and new growth will start again in late winter or early spring.
Origin: Native of the Balkans in Southeast Europe
